A bunch of months ago I was visiting Tammie’s blog and one of her delightful photos immediately caught my attention. I commented that I could see Zoe and Dante having an adventure in her landscape.
To my delight I got an email shortly after with the photo in question attached, giving me permission to borrow from it! I was flattered and thrilled! I started the image right away... but it just wasn’t working out and in the end I put it aside.
Then as it so happens, this week’s IF theme is journey, and I thought of that failed image. It was perfect. If only I could get it to work... I guess time gave me the distance to see it with fresh eyes, because now, after some tweaking (ok a lot of tweaking) I think I found my way.

Hello dear Em,
It has been too long since i have been to your blog to enjoy your wonderful imagination through your creations!
I forgot all about this. I am so thankful that you let me know that you made a piece. I can see the photo in your art, I love how you made it your own, a unique and wonderful expression of their (and your) journey!
Driving home the other day I looked far up into the mountains and could see this peak in the distance. It is buried deep in snow and I wonder when I can go back up to breath that air and take in those views.
Please say hello to Zoe and Dante and tell them to look out for the bears as they are waking up hungry now.
and; i love how the smoke or exhaust leaves the page. so creative of you.
what do you think is wrapped up and strapped down up on top? I can tell you, they have one fabulous view from where they are sitting!

Fell in love with your work when you did those knitted "tree pockets" and am excited by every new post. Love this - so unbelievably original!
this is great...i love the coloring.
So great and beautiful work! i like this style, because in your unique art, you sketch differently type of new mechanism what help Zoe and dante to move, this mechanism is like awesome mechanism from one of my favorite english cartoon - "Wallace & Gromit" .
When i read that you wrote- "I think I found my way." - I immediately found one cool song which hope that you know from Ice Age movie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGMabBGydC0&feature=related
You did an amazing job!Great concept:)
WOW, this is all sorts of AWESOME! This reminds me of Howls Moving Castle, the really pared down version. :) Certainly no danger of encountering pillbugs from way up there. Gorgeous focus, and I love the gray outlines of the trees and flowers and mountains. Incredible work!
